The reason I started making music initially was actually because I found it fascinating as well as therapeutic. When I was 13, I started writing about my personal issues/feelings in an artistic and melodic way, and it was an outlet for me. What inspired me to start creating the written music was the mindset: if I could somehow carry these curative characteristics of a song and express them to the listener too who may be facing their own problems and use my music to relate to, it would benefit me as well as them in a fun and interesting way.
Most of my music is melodic rap. I talk about real life issues that have affected me but also stories about other people where I can express my personal point of view on the situation. I try to be versatile with the songs meaning I do try to explore different genres as well as various subsections of rap. Below are some explanations of some of the songs I’ve written and/or recorded. You can listen to the song directly from this site or go to my Soundcloud page. Unfortunately I’m currently working on both creating new music and remastering the tracks below, so they aren’t available yet, but as soon as I’ve finalised the products they will be up and accessible here.
This song isn’t really a rap, it’s more of a slow melodic singing tune. I put this one first because it is my favourite song. Not only because of the cadence and vibe, but mostly because of the message. It talks about depression, anxiety and pessimistic emotions.
Although the topic is sad, it holds an uplifting message that whatever the struggle someone faces is, it will eventually get better and there will be a brighter end. I made this song with the intention to help myself during bad situations but mainly to hopefully help others who may be going through these negative thoughts.
This song talks about the hardship a lot of teenagers go through when dealing with their insecurities. The song encourages the idea of facing and dealing with those insecurities in a positive way and actually embracing them. It also talks about friendships/relationships and how those can heal/damage those negative thoughts about ourselves mentally and physically.
Although you may be deceived by the title name, this song doesn’t glorify being high on drugs. If anything it is the opposite. This song talks about the different stages in a child’s life and my personal want to never grow up. As younger children, we got joy (a high) out of playing sports, video games or any other personal activity, but as an older teenager we develop a reliance on drugs to receive that high. In this song try to encourage the mindset that there is more to life than this and although we mature, we don’t need to lose these child-like emotions.
I also like the cover of this song because it represents the song’s message well. The smoke is seen as colourful on the outside but on the inside it kills and takes away the beauty of real life.
